Verint Wins $3.3M In Speech Analytics Patent Suit

Law360, New York (May 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Georgia jury has hit Nice Systems with a $3.3 million verdict for infringing a Verint Americas Inc. patent that relates to a system for monitoring communications to ascertain a speaker's emotional state.

The jury returned its verdict in favor of the plaintiffs on Friday, and U.S. District Judge Timothy C. Batten Sr. signed off on the $3,316,883 judgment against Nice Systems Inc. and Nice Systems Ltd. the same day, clearing the way for Verint to seek a permanent injunction.
