Freedom Wireless, VeriSign Strike Deal In Patent Suit

Law360, New York (May 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Internet infrastructure services provider VeriSign Inc. became the latest company to strike a deal with Freedom Wireless Inc. related to prepaid wireless technology, agreeing to turn over 22 patents to Freedom Wireless and pay an undisclosed sum to resolve an infringement suit, the plaintiff said.

Freedom Wireless and VeriSign filed a final consent judgment on Wednesday in which they agree that judgment will be entered in Freedom Wireless' favor on its claims that VeriSign infringed three patents, as well as on VeriSign's counterclaims alleging noninfringement, unenforceability...
