Alcatel Not Infringing Microsoft Patent After All: ITC

Law360, New York (May 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has reversed a favorable finding for Microsoft Inc. in a case the software giant brought against Alcatel-Lucent for allegedly infringing patents for unified communication systems.

In a ruling Monday, the ITC found that French firm Alcatel-Lucent was not liable for infringement, overturning a portion of an earlier decision in which the company had been found to infringe one of four patents for devices that integrate telephones and computers.
