ITC Agrees To Investigate Tessera's Allegations

Law360, New York (May 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission agreed on Tuesday to investigate Tessera Technologies Inc.'s claim that a group of competitors illegally imported semiconductor packages that infringe three of its patents.

Tessera asked the ITC in April to examine whether the imported packages for miniature chips — used in gadgets such as cell phones, computers and digital cameras — violated the three patents.

While it agreed to carry out the investigation, the ITC did not set a date for a hearing on Tessera's allegations against rivals Siliconware Precision...
