E.On Seeks Green Light From Spain In Endesa Battle

Law360, New York (March 27, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Forging ahead with its bid to acquire Spain’s biggest energy utility, German energy giant E.On AG has formally requested regulatory clearance from Spanish authorities for its €29.1 billion takeover offer.

E.On submitted supporting documents to Spain's National Energy Commission late last week, according to Dow Jones.

The request kicks off a one-month review of E.On’s takeover plans by the National Energy Commission, a process that may be extended.
