Deals Rumor Mill: Swisscom, Waterland, Actavis

By Benjamin Horney (October 7, 2014, 6:47 PM EDT) -- Telecom company Swisscom AG is exploring a potential sale of its Italy-based broadband network operator, Fastweb SpA, which could be worth up to €5 billion ($6.33 billion), Reuters reported Tuesday. The news that Swisscom may be open to selling Fastweb comes about seven months after the telecom company denied rumors that it might sell the broadband network unit. According to Tuesday's report, Swisscom, which has already rejected a few takeover offers from Vodafone Group PLC, is now working with Vodaphone's long-term adviser, UBS AG, about potentially making a deal. Swisscom bought Fastweb in 2007 for $5.8 billion....
