Chip Makers Settle Patent Row Over Lighting Devices

Law360, New York (March 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Ending a patent dispute over lighting devices for computers and liquid crystal display screens, Microsemi Corp. and Monolithic Power Systems Inc. reached an amicable settlement Monday.

Under the agreement, the companies resolved to dismiss all claims and counterclaims in the litigation with prejudice, and Microsemi decided not to assert the four patents against Monolithic. Both companies will continue to market their backlight inverter product lines, and they said they are considering a cooperative business relationship.
