ITC Judge Freezes Out Whirlpool Refrigerator Patents

Law360, New York (June 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge for the International Trade Commission has pulled the plug on part of a patent case between LG Electronics and Whirlpool Corp., ruling that two patents claimed by Whirlpool for refrigerator technology are invalid.

Whirlpool informed the court in May it was withdrawing the two patents, which deal with freezer doors, and requested that the part of the case dealing with them be terminated.
