McCain Wants Lift Of Ban On Offshore Drilling

Law360, New York (June 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As customers desperately look for relief at the pump, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is seeking to lift the ban on offshore drilling in hopes of exploring untapped oil reserves and stopping the daily surge of gasoline prices.

The presumptive Republican nominee is expected to deliver a speech on Tuesday demanding that the reserves be opened up for drilling. Yesterday, he called for the U.S. to eliminate its dependence on foreign oil.
