Samsung Claims Digital TV Devices Infringe Patents

Law360, New York (June 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. is suing Polaroid Corp. and Westinghouse Digital Electronics LLC, claiming that their digital television products infringe four of its patents.

The Korean electronics giant's suit, filed June 10 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, alleges that the companies have failed to license the technology necessary to make products capable of receiving digital TV signals that meet federal standards.
