Court Forces Lord Black To Hand Over Papers

Law360, New York (March 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Former media tycoon Conrad Black has lost a fight to keep from turning over critical documents to federal prosecutors.

A federal district judge denied Lord Black’s motion to stop a subpoena for 13 boxes of papers that Lord Black took from his office in Toronto after he learned that he would be investigated by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The judge ruled that the subpoena was “perfectly appropriate” and ordered Lord Black to hand over the documents by April 10.
