Comments Are Unlikely To Sway EPA On Retail Regulations

Law360, New York (November 14, 2014, 10:40 AM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently solicited public comment on how existing hazardous waste management rules present special burdens for the retail sector. Curiously, this Federal Register notice was a general solicitation for comments and retail industry waste management data. It was not a notice of a proposed or final rule. As such, it is hard to say why the EPA even solicited comment on this topic. Although the EPA has been communicating with retail industry representatives regarding these waste management concerns for some time now, it is not clear what the agency plans to do with new information....
