Qantas Negotiating Cartel Fine With Australia: Report

Law360, New York (June 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Qantas Airways Ltd. is reportedly negotiating a penalty with Australia's competition watchdog for its alleged role in an air cargo shipping cartel.

The Australian airline's penalty from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is expected to be in the tens of millions of dollars, the Australian Financial Review reported on Wednesday.

Qantas and the ACCC could not immediately be reached to confirm the report.
