Judge OKs $3.9M Settlement Of Restaurant Wage Spat

Law360, New York (June 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A prominent Manhattan restaurant group is reportedly firming up settlements in two lawsuits brought by employees alleging wage-and-hour violations at the Redeye Grill and five other upscale restaurants owned by the Fireman Hospitality Group Cafe Concepts Inc.

The $3.9 million settlement submitted in December for approval is all but concluded, according to reports in the New York Times. Judge Paul A. Crotty of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York gave a provisional go-ahead to a $588,000 payment to waiters and workers...
