Lawsuit Flies In The Face Of Airline Merger

Law360, New York (June 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of consumers has filed a lawsuit against Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp., saying that their proposed $17.7 billion merger is anti-competitive and will result in higher ticket prices and diminished service.

The suit, filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, asks a judge to stop the deal, which is currently under review by the U.S. Department of Justice.
