Microsoft Puts Positive Spin On EU Hearings

Law360, New York (April 3, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hailing a “breakthrough” in the case, Microsoft Corp.’s general counsel indicated that the software giant and European regulators had achieved significant progress in ending their antitrust compliance battle following a two-day set of closed-door hearings on the issue.

“I was very encouraged when Professor Barrett, the trustee for the case, presented his plan to move forward,” said Microsoft attorney Brad Smith, on the steps of the European Commission in Brussels last Friday.
