Thomson-Reuters Clears DOJ Hurdle

Law360, New York (June 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Months after Thomson Corp. and Reuters Group Plc agreed to shed certain items in hopes of a union, a judge has signed off on the deal and officially approved the $17.5 billion merger.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Thomas Hogan of the District of Columbia issued a final judgment in the antitrust case, formally resolving the competition concerns posed by the U.S. Department of Justice.
