D.C. Circuit Rebuffs Petition For EPA Deadline

Law360, New York (June 30, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit has refused to set a deadline for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to comply with a Supreme Court ruling that allowed the agency to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from motor vehicles.

On Thursday, the D.C. Circuit ignored the pleas of numerous states and environmental groups, ruling that the Supreme Court's decision in Massachusetts v. EPA did not demand a specific time frame for the regulations to be put into place.
