Iraq Sues 93 Over Oil-For-Food Corruption

Law360, New York (July 01, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Two Texans and dozens of large companies are among 93 defendants in a wide-ranging lawsuit filed last week by the Iraqi government in connection with the 1990s oil-for-food program.

The lawsuit, filed late Friday night in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleges that the companies and individuals conspired with members of Saddam Hussein's government "in order to reap the economic benefits of trading" while the United Nations administered the corruption-plagued program, Dow Jones reported.
