Pfizer Wins Dismissal Of 4 Claims From Celebrex Suit

Law360, New York (July 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has dismissed a handful of claims from a securities class action against Pfizer Inc. over the company’s alleged nondisclosure of studies linking painkillers Celebrex and Bextra to an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes.

On Tuesday, Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York granted in part and denied in part Pfizer’s motion to dismiss the consolidated class action securities suit.
