Court Tosses Belgian Copyrighters' Suit Against EC

Law360, New York (July 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Days after a Belgian court tossed its case, Copiepresse — a copyright-holding agency that represents French- and German-language newspapers in Belgium — has vowed to sue the European Commission again over material on the commission's news aggregators.

Copiepresse alleged in the suit that two news aggregators run by the European Commission — NewsBrief and NewsExplorer — infringed the company's exclusive material by listing copyrighted headlines and articles in its searches.
