Texas Teacher In Evolution Flap Sues For Her Job

Law360, New York (July 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The former director of science education in Texas is suing to regain the job she resigned from last year after sending an e-mail about a lecture by an opponent of creationism.

Christina Castillo Comer, who was the director of science in the Texas Education Association's curriculum division for nearly 10 years, was forced to resign over an e-mail she sent announcing an anti-creationism lecture.

The Texas Education Association officially maintains a “neutrality position” on the teaching of creationism and evolution in public schools.
