Airlines Seek Immunity For Joint Venture: Reports

Law360, New York (July 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Three of the world's largest airlines – American Airlines Corp., British Airways and Spain's Iberia LAE – have reportedly sought antitrust immunity for a joint venture and may seek approval of the plan as early as the end of the month.

The three airlines hoped to come to an agreement on profit and revenue sharing by the end of July, according to the Financial Times. The paper reported Wednesday that the airlines may file an antitrust application in the U.S. within the next week.
