InBev Moves To Dislodge Anheuser Board

Law360, New York (July 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Belgian brewer InBev is putting the squeeze on reluctant acquisition target Anheuser-Busch Co. Inc., announcing Monday it will seek to oust the directors of the U.S. beer giant.

The move marks a hostile turn in the courtship of the Budweiser maker, whose board resoundingly rejected Inbev's $46 billion offer late last month.

InBev said it planned to file a preliminary consent solicitation statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday seeking to unseat Anheuser's entire board.
