France Detains Airbus CFO In Insider Trading Probe

Law360, New York (July 9, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- French police detained former Airbus CFO and current CEO of EADS-EFW Wednesday morning as part of an insider trading investigation into European Aeronautic Defense and Space Company NV.

The detention followed an "agreed schedule," according to executive Andreas Sperl's attorney, Christian Curtil of London-based firm Bird & Bird. Curtil confirmed Sperl's participation in the French prosecutor's probe.

Curtil also noted that Sperl had already cooperated with the French Financial Markets Authority, which is conducting its own probe into securities sales by 17 current and former EADS...
