Court Upholds USITC Ruling On Foreign Steel Plates

Law360, New York (July 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a blow to steel plate maker Nucor Corp., an international trade court has upheld a ruling by the U.S. International Trade Commission, which found that revoking an anti-dumping duty placed on foreign steel plate makers would not harm domestic industry.

In a decision handed down on July 9, the U.S. Court of International Trade denied plaintiff Nucor Corp.’s challenge of the ITC’s final determination, ruling that contrary to Nucor’s assertion, the commission’s decision is supported by substantial evidence and is well within the law....
