IP Law Firm's Conflict Of Interest Resolved: Judge

Law360, New York (July 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has dismissed a motion to disqualify Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP from an optoelectronics patent case, as the firm has severed its ties to the technology company that alleged the firm had a conflict of interest.

The company, Aprius, filed to intervene in the case in May, arguing that the firm should be disqualified from representing plaintiff Frank Shum against Jean-Marc Verdiell and Intel Corp. in a patent inventorship dispute.
