Dow's Fine For 'Malicious' Suit Increases To $4.4M

Law360, New York (July 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dow Chemical Corp. has been ordered to pay $1.59 million in prejudgment interest, on top of a $2.85 million fine, after the chemical giant was found liable for malicious prosecution of its patent lawsuit against Mee Industries Inc.

Judge Gregory Presnell of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida approved the interest award on Friday, about six weeks after the jury verdict in the case.
