Deals Rumor Mill: Enel, Atkins, Terra Firma

By Benjamin Horney (February 26, 2015, 6:55 PM EST) -- Italy has reportedly agreed to sell a 5.74 percent stake in state-owned energy utility Enel SpA for €2.2 billion ($2.5 billion), Dow Jones said Thursday. According to the report, the Italian government now owns 25.5 percent of Enel and will not sell any further shares of the utility for 180 days without the consent of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs International, Mediobanca SpA and UniCredit Group, which were each involved in the sale process. Italy announced plans to sell a portion of Enel earlier this year, although December reports indicated it had decided to hold off due to poor market conditions. The buyer was not disclosed in Thursday's report....
