Judge To Consider Challenge To $50M BP Deal

Law360, New York (July 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge will reportedly consider victims' challenge to a proposed $50 million plea agreement in a criminal case against BP stemming from a 2005 explosion at a Texas refinery that killed 15 people and injured 170.

Twelve victims are alleging that BP is not complying with the conditions of its plea agreement, Reuters reported. On Wednesday, Judge Lee Rosenthal of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas requested additional information on those allegations.
