Deals Rumor Mill: Holcim, Volkswagen, Google

By Benjamin Horney (March 11, 2015, 5:59 PM EDT) -- Holcim Ltd. and Lafarge SA are discussing the possibility of renegotiating their massive proposed merger, which would create a combined group valued at more than $50 billion, after the past year has seen "a divergence in value" of the two European cement makers, according to a Wednesday report from the Financial Times. According to the report, the two sides are in talks that could result in changes to the terms of the "one-for-one share" deal that was announced last April. The deal has faced scrutiny of late, most recently when Holcim's largest investor earlier this week demanded that the company secure improved terms for its shareholders....
