Bayer CropScience Faces 2 More Modified-Rice Suits

Law360, New York (July 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bayer CropScience LP is the focus of two more lawsuits alleging that a strain of genetically modified rice contaminated U.S. rice supplies, costing farmers untold millions of dollars.

The suits, both filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, contend that Bayer CropScience knowingly mishandled two strains of genetically modified rice, LL601 and LL604, before they were approved by government regulators.
