RNC Backs Down From Filing Trademark Suit

Law360, New York (July 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- CafePress.com has resolved a trademark dispute with the Republican National Committee that will allow it to continue selling T-shirts, bumper stickers and tote bags that contain the official Republican elephant logo and the initials “GOP.”

The RNC had threatened legal action in a series of letters to CafePress. But under the terms of an agreement announced Monday, CafePress will not have to remove any of the content the RNC complained about and most vendors will be able to continue selling their products.
