Law360, New York (July 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The rash of lawsuits stemming from the collapse of the multibillion-dollar auction rate securities market requires a new breed of securities attorneys who are trial-ready, according to Jones Day securities and shareholder litigation group co-chairs David Carden and Pat Villareal.

While securities lawyers have not historically been known for their frequent encounters with juries, it pays to have attorneys who are experienced litigators in this time of dwindling liquidity, when settlements are not a fait accompli, they said.
