Boston, Medtronic Agree To Slash Damages By $64M

Law360, New York (July 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After a judge partly reversed a jury verdict that Boston Scientific Corp. infringed three Medtronic Inc. patents covering angioplasty catheters and balloons, the two companies have agreed that damages against Boston Scientific should be reduced by about $64 million.

A jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas found in May that a number of Boston Scientific's catheter and balloon products infringed U.S. Patent Numbers 6,190,358; 6,605,057 and 6,210,364.
