Arkema Hit With ERISA Suit For Separation Pay

Law360, New York (July 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A group of former employees has sued Arkema Inc. for failing to provide separation pay that was guaranteed in Arkema's employee welfare benefit plan.

The complaint, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, claims Arkema violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by wrongfully denying the plaintiffs separation pay upon selling the business unit where they worked until April 30, 2007.
