Ex-ProQuest VP Pays To Settle Fraud Charges

Law360, New York (July 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former executive at ProQuest Co. agreed Tuesday to pay over $418,000 to settle charges that he initiated an accounting fraud that led to an overstatement of company revenue.

Scott Hirth, the former vice president of finance at ProQuest, will pay disgorgement of about $234,000, prejudgment interest of about $54,000 and a civil penalty of $130,000. He also consented to be permanently barred from serving as an officer or director of a public company.
