Deals Rumor Mill: Didi Dache-Kuaidi, Focus Media, Holcim

By Benjamin Horney (April 1, 2015, 5:55 PM EDT) -- A Chinese taxi-hailing app startup known as Didi Dache-Kuaidi Dache could be worth as much as $8.75 billion, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday. According to the report, that estimated value is largely based on rumors that U.S. hedge fund Coatue Management LLC is part of an investor group that plans to buy $600 million worth of shares in the company, which was created by combining two separate apps, Didi Dache and Kuaidi Dache. According to the report, Coatue plans to buy about $250 million worth of common shares, while Farallon Capital Management LLC will nab about $75 million. The remaining players were not disclosed....
