Charter Exec Must Testify In Suit V. Scientific-Atlanta

Law360, New York (July 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in Florida has granted the plaintiffs' motion to compel the testimony of a former Charter Communications Inc. executive in a shareholder class action that accuses video technology company Scientific-Atlanta Inc. of committing securities fraud.

On Thursday, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida ruled that John Pietri, Charter's former senior vice president of engineering, was not entitled to refuse to answer deposition questions by asserting the privilege against self-incrimination. The court ordered that the deposition be reconvened.
