China Leaps Forward In Patent Filings

Law360, New York (July 31, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- China, Korea and the U.S. showed the largest growth in patent applications in 2006, with worldwide filings increasing 4.9% over the previous year, according to the World Intellectual Property Organization.

However, despite the continued growth in patent applications, the rate of increase has not been as high as those for gross domestic product and trade.
