Celebrex Plaintiffs Must Comply With 'Lone Pine' Order

Law360, New York (August 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has agreed with Pfizer Inc. that nonsettling plaintiffs in the massive product liability multidistrict litigation over Celebrex and Bextra need to get more specific about their claims, ruling that a “Lone Pine” order would aid the judicial process by identifying cases that ought to be tried.

Judge Charles R. Breyer said at a motion hearing Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California that he would grant Pfizer's bid for such an order over the objections of the plaintiffs,...
