Icahn Officially Named To Yahoo's Board

Law360, New York (August 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Yahoo Inc. formally named activist-investor Carl Icahn to its board of directors as part of a July 21 deal that ended a bitter proxy fight over Microsoft Corp.'s bid to buy Yahoo, the company's filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Wednesday show.

Along with naming Icahn, Yahoo said in its filing that video game maker Activision Inc.'s Chief Executive Officer Robert Kotick resigned his position on the board as part of the July 21 deal.
