Cingular Sues Sprint Over “More Powerful” Ads

Law360, New York (May 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Calling for a trademark dispute to be played out in federal court, Cingular Wireless LLC claimed its main rival Sprint Nextel Corp. is resorting to false advertising to gain an edge in the mobile communications market.

Cingular, the nation’s largest provider of mobile communications services, launched a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia on Tuesday, casting aside Sprint’s advertisement that touts that it is “more powerful” as false and misleading.
