Judge Tosses CNET Derivative Suit

Law360, New York (August 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California judge has formally closed the book on the options backdating derivative suit filed against CNET Networks Inc., finding that the plaintiffs in the case repeatedly failed to adequately allege demand futility.

Judge William Alsup of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Thursday signed an order dismissing the consolidated derivative class action, ruling that since the plaintiffs had not sought leave to amend a complaint that had been dismissed in June, judgment should be found in favor of the defendants....
