Environmental Issues Ripe For Courtroom Drama

Law360, New York (August 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- While environmental litigation has steadily increased in recent years, the time is ripe for even more court activity as the U.S. government, corporations and individuals begin to grapple with the environmental realities of the 21st century, according to some experts.

“We are seeing litigation on climate change now,” said John McAleese, an environmental partner with Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP. “You have large projects that don't account for the impact on a climate change basis, and environmental groups are suing governmental agencies.”
