Radio Shack, Others Sued Over DVD Player Patent

Law360, New York (August 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A patent-holding company has sued DVD player manufacturers Initial Technology Inc., jWIN Electronics Corp. and Radio Shack Corp. for allegedly infringing a patent for DVD player technology that allows smooth transitions between scenes.

Technology Licensing Co. Inc. filed the trio of suits Aug. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, claiming that the electronics companies violated federal patent law by making and selling products that contain patent-infringing elements.
