Biovail Sues Sun Over Cardizem ANDA

Law360, New York (August 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Biovail Laboratories International SRL has sued Indian generics maker Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. over Sun's plans to create a generic version of Biovail's hypertension drug Cardizem.

Biovail filed the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, seeking an injunction preventing Sun's plans from moving forward.

According to the suit, Sun has filed an abbreviated new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration seeking approval to market a generic equivalent of Cardizem in several dosages.
