Boeing Burned Over Fire Prevention System Patents

Law360, New York (August 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A New York-based patent-holding company has slapped Boeing Co. with a suit accusing the aerospace company of infringing four patents dealing with fire prevention and suppression.

The amended complaint, filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, alleges that Boeing infringed the patents held by FirePass IP Holdings Inc. and fire safety systems maker FirePass Corp. through the manufacture and sale of a variety of airplanes and related products, including the company's 787 line.
