Green Groups Sue Over Calif. Forest Plans

Law360, New York (August 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Several environmental groups, including the Sierra Club, have filed suit against the U.S. Forest Service, arguing that management plans for several large California forests do not do enough to protect the areas from logging, roads and off-road vehicles.

The suit was filed Thursday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California by the Center for Biological Diversity, Los Padres ForestWatch, Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, California Native Plant Society, California Wilderness Coalition and The Wilderness Society.
