Toy Industry To Launch Safety Certification

Law360, New York (August 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Days after President Bush signed a law overhauling the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Toy Industry Association has announced that it is in the process of developing a new safety certification program to help companies comply with stricter safety rules.

The Toy Safety Certification Program will require manufacturers to assess the risks of their toys, get independent audits of their factory processes, and have their toys tested in independent laboratories.
